Power has been restored to about 10,000 people in New Orleans, according to Entergy. The utility said the largest outages were concentrated in the Ninth Ward, St. Roch and Gentilly Woods.
The restoration gives thousands of households and businesses at least one less immediate disruption to manage, even as the neighborhoods that saw the biggest outages were still the hardest hit during the outage period. Entergy identified the restoration figure, and by the time of the article it said service had returned for about 10,000 customers across the city.
The neighborhoods named by the utility show where the outage burden was heaviest: the Ninth Ward, St. Roch and Gentilly Woods. That matters because those are the places where residents waited the longest for the lights to come back on, and where the final stretch of restoration would have been felt most directly.
What remains is whether every affected block is fully back online or whether smaller pockets of outages still linger outside the main areas listed by Entergy. The city’s biggest outage clusters may now be behind it, but the restoration picture is only complete when the last homes in the hardest-hit neighborhoods are back on.
