Blue Bell Ice Cream has added Black Raspberry Fudge Ice Cream to its summer lineup, the company said, bringing a fruit-and-chocolate blend back to its seasonal offerings.
Joe Robertson, speaking for the company, noted that the new flavor is notable on its own terms and, he said, "the first raspberry-flavored item added to the lineup in several years." Black Raspberry Fudge features black raspberry–flavored ice cream studded with dark chocolate–flavored chunks and threaded with a chocolate fudge swirl. Blue Bell is selling it in half-gallon and pint sizes for a limited time while supplies last.
The new scoop joins Brookie À La Mode on store shelves. Brookie À La Mode uses a brown sugar ice cream base mixed with brownie pieces and chocolate chip cookie chunks, and like Black Raspberry Fudge it is available in pint and half-gallon sizes for a limited time.
Blue Bell is also drawing attention to a product line it introduced in March — the PRO Pints — which the company says contain up to 12 grams of protein per serving. PRO Pints are offered in chocolate, coffee, salted caramel, strawberry and vanilla flavors, positioning them as a recent, higher-protein option alongside the company’s rotating seasonal items.
The timing follows Blue Bell’s pattern of refreshing its roster as temperatures climb and demand for seasonal flavors picks up. The company framed the Black Raspberry Fudge release as part of that seasonal push, placing a fruit-forward, chocolate-heavy offering into circulation at the start of peak ice cream season.
That positioning also creates a small contradiction: bringing back a raspberry flavor for the first time in several years while limiting it to a short run. It raises a plain question for shoppers and retailers alike — is this a test of renewed interest in fruit flavors, or simply another summer special? Blue Bell has not expanded availability beyond the announced pint and half-gallon formats.
For now, the answer is concrete and immediate: Black Raspberry Fudge and Brookie À La Mode are on shelves in pint and half-gallon sizes and are being offered only for a limited time while supplies last, and Blue Bell continues to market its PRO Pints line introduced in March as a separate, higher-protein option.
