Ashley St Clair says Elon Musk changed after pregnancy reveal

says her relationship with took a sharp and awkward turn after she told him she was pregnant with their son. In a posted last week, St. Clair said the change came fast: “As soon as I’m pregnant, this is when things start getting weird.”

St. Clair said she and Musk began talking about having a child together during a getaway to St. Barts, after what she described as an emotionally intimate relationship. She said they had a “very normal conversation” about the possibility of having children, and that Musk’s demeanor in private felt normal and even funny before the pregnancy. Then, she said, “it just got so f–king weird, man.”

The 27-year-old said Musk had seemed much more normal before she became pregnant and that the shift began as soon as she told him the news. She said there were “things that are not adding up or that are different from what he previously said to me.” That account adds a personal wrinkle to a relationship that has already played out in public since , when St. Clair said she had secretly welcomed Musk’s child five months earlier. She later identified the child as Romulus.

St. Clair also described her own situation before meeting Musk. She said she was already a single mother, having welcomed a son with a previous partner, and that she wanted more children. “The chances of me getting married and the white picket fence and the white dress, I believed that was out the window for me because I was already ‘stained’ as a single mom,” she said. “But, I wanted nothing more than to be a mom. I wanted more kids.”

She said that made Musk’s remarks especially appealing. “So, when Elon was like, ‘You should have kids, my only limited resource is time,’ of course, it is appealing to do what I always wanted to…be a mom and not have to worry about the s–t going on in this economy,” she said. St. Clair added, “I don’t think that’s a crazy position to take,” and said, “My kids are always going to be taken care of.”

The comments land against the backdrop of Musk’s already sprawling family. He and had a son, , in 2002; he died at 10 weeks old. Musk and Wilson later had twins Griffin and Vivian and triplets Saxon, Kai and Damian. With , Musk had son X AE A-XII in and daughter Exa Dark Sideræl Musk via surrogate in December 2021.

What remains unresolved is Musk’s response. A representative for the tech billionaire did not immediately respond to a request for comment, leaving St. Clair’s account as the most detailed public description yet of how the relationship changed after the pregnancy. On the facts she has put forward, the answer is plain: the romance did not simply cool off, it broke when the pregnancy became real.
